Operations

At Royal SMIT, Operations is all about craftsmanship. Our team is responsible for building transformers, a process that can rightly be called craftsmanship. Almost the entire production process is manual, so our mechanics are busy with precision and craftsmanship every day.

In addition, the operations team plays a crucial role in quality control. In our High Voltage Lab, transformers are extensively tested for quality and functioning. The technical department is also an important part of operations, with the goal of keeping our processes running smoothly and efficiently.

Are you curious which position within Operations would suit you?

About our department

The operations department consists of different teams that together take care of building and testing transformers. From the preparations to the final test on site, the work is varied and challenging.

You might be building switchgear cabinets, testing transformers in our High Voltage Lab or as a supervisor commissioning our products at locations around the world. Whatever you do, you work in a team that puts quality first and is always there for each other.

Craftsmanship that counts worldwide.

The departments within Operations

Winding & Winding Set
Here we build windings and coils, which are essential for transforming voltage and current. This is the beginning of the crafting process.

Core & Active Part
Everything comes together in this department. We perform quality checks and complete the inside of the transformer - a precision job that requires a great deal of expertise.

Assembly
As an assembly engineer, you use your technical skills on a daily basis. You can work in different places: pre- and final assembly or in the dispatch hall. Here we make sure that every transformer is complete and ready for transport.

Testing
In the High Voltage Lab, we perform the final quality checks. This is the final part of the production process, where we thoroughly test every detail. Everything must be perfect before the transformer goes to the customer.
